Sakkarai Pongal

Ingredients

2 cups rice


Jaggery as much you prefer (sieved prior)


1 ts salt


1 ts cardamom powder


800 ml milk


Cashew nuts


Raisin


Ghee

Directions

1. Wash rice and boil with 2 cups of water till partially soft.


2. Once rice is partially cooked,add in milk.


3. Slow cook for 10 minutes.


4. Meanwhile, heat up ghee and saute cashew and raisin. Keep aside till use.


5. After 10 minutes, add in jaggery, mix well and slow cook rice for another 10 minutes.


6. Add in cashew nuts and raisin and more ghee. Also add in cardamom powder. Mix well and off the heat.


7. Ready to serve.
